The State Department urged Americans to immediately leave Belarus and Transnistria

The US State Department recommended that the Americans immediately leave Belarus and Transnistria in connection with the situation around Ukraine. This was reported on the website of the Bureau of Consular Affairs of the United States.

“Do not enter Belarus due to arbitrary enforcement of laws, risk of detention, unusual and worrying Russian military buildup along Belarus’ border with Ukraine, COVID-19, and related entry restrictions,” the State Department said.

The ministry said in a statement that US citizens in Belarus must immediately leave the republic "by commercial or private means."

The State Department also urged the Americans not to travel to Moldova and asked them to leave Transnistria immediately.

Earlier, the US Embassy repeatedly called on compatriots to leave Ukraine and published a road map with a list of countries to leave. The Americans were advised to leave Ukraine through Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Moldova. The diplomatic mission also called on all US citizens in Ukraine to fill out an online form so that diplomats can contact them.

The story of a possible “Russian invasion” of Ukraine has been actively promoted in the West since mid-autumn last year. The US has consistently pointed to a supposed increase in Russia's presence near Ukraine's borders, threatening Moscow with new sanctions if it escalates. At the same time, the Kremlin has more than once directly denied any plans to attack Ukraine, on the contrary, pointing to the possible preparation of a military operation in the Donbass by Kiev.
