Press Secretary of Russian President Vladimir Putin Dmitry Peskov said that the long distance between the head of state and the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defense Sergey Lavrov and Sergey Shoigu during the working meeting is due to covid restrictions. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

“This (long distance — ed.) is due to covid restrictions and precautions. In no way does this distance interfere with work. There were full-fledged discussions and reports to the head of state,” Peskov said.

Putin's meeting with Lavrov and Shoigu took place on Monday. The head of the Foreign Ministry discussed with the president Moscow's reaction to the responses of the United States and NATO to Russia's proposed security guarantees in Europe, the minister of defense discussed exercises in Belarus and the incident with a supposedly American submarine near the Russian Kuriles.

Earlier, Peskov said that a dense series of face-to-face international meetings did not affect Putin's health.
