The second draft resolution on the recognition of the DPR and LPR was submitted to the State Duma by United Russia

The second draft resolution on the chamber's appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin to recognize the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics was submitted to the State Duma by the United Russia faction. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the relevant document.

Earlier it became known that on February 14, the profile committee of the State Duma on CIS affairs, Eurasian integration and relations with compatriots supported two versions of the resolution on the recognition of the republics of Donbass.

One of the drafts was submitted to the State Duma by deputies from the Communist Party headed by its leader Gennady Zyuganov, three members of the committee voted for this document.

The second draft from United Russia was submitted by the first deputy chairman of the committee, Viktor Vodolatsky, and the deputy chairman of the committee, Artem Turov. This option calls for the head of the Russian Federation to recognize the independence of the DPR and LPR, but after consultations with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
