Russia (bbabo.net), - Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday held a meeting with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, at which the head of the defense department spoke about the exercises that are now taking place in different regions of the country and abroad, with the participation of the armed forces RF.
"I know that you are ready today to report on the progress of the exercises that we are taking place in various water areas of the World Ocean, in the Far East, in the South, in the North, in the Central Military District and with our friends in Belarus. Please, I'm listening to you," Putin said, addressing the minister.
"Large-scale exercises are taking place in the Western Military District, in almost all fleets - in the Barents Sea, the Black Sea, the Baltic Sea, the Pacific Fleet. Troops of almost all military districts take part in them, including the Eastern Military District, the Central military district, Northern Fleet," Shoigu reported. He added that some of these exercises will be completed in the near future.
The Minister of Defense also spoke about the incident "most likely" with an American submarine, which in the Kuril Islands area entered Russian waters for more than 4 km. "As a result of actions, almost three hours, she was expelled from the water area of the Russian Federation," Sergei Shoigu informed.
