Putin revealed the reason why Russia put forward security initiatives

Russia has put forward security initiatives because it does not want war. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated this during a press conference following negotiations with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, RIA Novosti reports.

“That is why we put forward proposals for a negotiation process, the result of which should be an agreement on ensuring equal security for everyone, including our country,” Putin said, answering a question about whether there will be a war.

In mid-December last year, the Russian Foreign Ministry published security agreements for the US and NATO. They took into account the concerns of the parties, in particular on the situation in Ukraine. Russia's main conditions are that NATO will not move east and will deny Ukraine membership in the alliance.

Putin noted that in the proposals of the Russian Federation on security guarantees, which were sent to the North Atlantic Alliance and the United States, "there is not a single point" that the Russian side "deems unenforceable."

The United States and NATO refused to sign the projects proposed by Russia, saying that they "cannot compromise."
