Zakharova quoted Tyutchev talking about Russia's invasion of Ukraine

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commenting on the messages of Western politicians about Russia on Telegram, quoted a poem by the Russian poet Fyodor Tyutchev.

Zakharova recalled that Tyutchev was an outstanding diplomat who debunked "fakes" about Russia in his journalistic works. She read the lines from the poem “Winter is angry for good reason” and noted that the disinformation statements of Western politicians about the planned “invasion” of Russia will pull new statements already from the United States - from the State Department and the administration of the American president.

“Centuries pass, but the approaches are the same,” Zakharova said.

Earlier, the German edition of Spiegel reported that Russia's "attack" on Ukraine will begin on February 16. Prior to this, Bloomberg, citing officials, said that the United States believes that this will happen on February 15. British Minister Liz Truss called the likelihood of an "invasion" of the Russian Federation high and "very likely."

Meanwhile, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov called such statements “information madness” and said that Vladimir Putin jokingly even “asks to know if the exact time in hours when the war starts is published.”
