Minsk: Permanent representatives of the CIS formed the agenda of the meeting of the Ministerial Council

It is planned to hold a face-to-face meeting of the heads of the foreign ministries of the CIS states at a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers on April 8 in the capital of Tajikistan. Its agenda was finally approved on February 15 by plenipotentiaries of the Commonwealth countries at the headquarters of this international organization in Minsk.

The session of the Ministerial Council, noted the First Deputy Executive Secretary of the CIS Leonid Anfimov, will traditionally be held in a narrow and wide format. At the beginning, he specified, "issues of the international agenda, the date and place of its next meeting will be considered. And in a broad format, it is proposed to discuss issues related, first of all, to the implementation of the international project "Youth Capital of the CIS", the creation of a basic organization of member states in the field of tourism, determining the list of promising scientific projects corresponding to the priority areas of fundamental research of the Commonwealth states".

It is also expected that at the April meeting in Dushanbe, issues of implementing the plan of multi-level inter-MFA consultations within the Commonwealth, the action program to enhance partnership between the foreign ministries of states and amending the regulation on the Bureau for Coordinating the Fight against Organized Crime and Other Dangerous Types of Crime will be discussed on the territory of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

On the same day, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Marat Syzdykov, presented in the Belarusian capital the concept of Kazakhstan's chairmanship of the CIS in 2022, which, according to Anfimov, is balanced and "retains continuity in previously adopted decisions and developed activities during the years of previous chairmanships of other states Commonwealth of Independent States".

In addition, proposals for the draft agenda of the next meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government were discussed at the meeting. It is scheduled to be held in May in Nur-Sultan, BelTA informs.
