Italians over 50 not allowed to work without COVID-certificate

From February 15, people over 50 working in Italian private companies and public institutions will not be allowed to work without a "green pass" - a certificate of vaccination or a previous disease, according to QuiFinanza. PCR tests will not be taken into account.

Citizens who have crossed the 50-year threshold have added to the list of persons for whom mandatory vaccination is introduced. They also include health workers, teachers, school staff, university professors and law enforcement officers.

Serious penalties are provided for violators of this rule. You will have to pay 100 euros for refusing to be vaccinated. For employees who appeared at the workplace without a certificate, penalties will vary from 600 to 1500 euros, plus the offender will be suspended from work without pay. And employers who have not shown vigilance will have to fork out in the amount of 400 to 1 thousand euros. In the event of a repeated violation, the fines are doubled.

It is expected that the "green pass" will be required in the working context until 15 June.
