The Finnish Defense Forces have raised the level of internal readiness, reports Yle. According to the representative of the Ministry of Defense of the country, Colonel Torsti Astren, this decision means strengthening security and supervision, as well as attracting personnel to monitor the operational situation.

According to him, the readiness level of the Finnish forces was set at “B”, which corresponds to the second point in the four-point threat scale - the first level “A” means low danger, and the fourth “D” indicates the highest.

At the same time, Ilkka Kanerva, chairman of the Finnish parliament's defense committee, noted that the increase in the level of readiness of the country's forces is associated with growing tensions around Ukraine amid reports of a possible "invasion" of Russia.

“We would be in a special position if we said that what is happening there (in Ukraine) or in Europe has nothing to do with our way of life at all. Yes, this (increasing the level of readiness of the forces) is a sign that we are following the development of the situation and are aware of what procedures should be used here in the future, ”the deputy emphasized.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry called on Western media to announce the schedule of Russian “invasions” into Ukraine.
