Russia and the CIS (bbabo.net) - Russian Muslims are distinguished by high social and public activity, which makes them reliable partners of the state and society, said Deputy Chairman of the Spiritual Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation (DUM RF) Rushan Abbyasov during a speech at a conference in Cairo.

Abbyasov noted that the followers of Islam are implementing various charitable, scientific, cultural and socially significant projects in Russia, making a significant contribution to the preservation of interfaith and interethnic peace.

He also drew attention to the high level of relations between Muslims and the state. As an example, he cited the decision of President Vladimir Putin to organize at the state level the celebration of the 1100th anniversary of the official adoption of Islam by the peoples of the Volga Bulgaria.
