Russia (bbabo.net), - Many thousands of Russian citizens live in the DPR and LPR. In the event of an invasion by the armed forces of Ukraine, Russia will not leave them in trouble and will not give offense. Everything necessary will be done to protect them, said Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko.

In Russia, no one wants war with Ukraine, or with anyone else. The politician called such thoughts blasphemous and "absolute savagery." The Russian position was clearly formulated by the head of the Russian state: we, for our part, will do everything to ensure that there will never be a war with Ukraine, Matviyenko emphasized in an interview with Parliamentary Newspaper.

According to the speaker, there are no objective grounds for accusing Russia of aggressive intentions. The theme of the attack on Ukraine, which has been whipped up by the West in recent weeks, has no evidence base, it is just "solid fabrications."

At the same time, the politician noted that certain forces in the United States and the West are trying to draw Ukraine into a war with Russia, they are forcing it, heating up the international situation. At the same time, NATO is conducting military development of the territory of Ukraine, its pumping of weapons continues, and pockets of instability are being created around the borders of the Russian Federation.

Matvienko believes that Ukraine needs to be clearly aware of the consequences of its every next step. It depends on which path Ukrainian history will take. However, the real development of Ukraine is impossible without the unconditional implementation of the Minsk agreements. Otherwise, the Russian politician believes, Ukraine is doomed to remain in its current state: burdened by confrontation with Russia, internal armed conflict, with weak state power, unable to effectively govern the country.
