Political scientist Oskar Krejci, in an interview with the Czech edition Parlamentní listy, spoke about how the actions of the United States in the information field due to the situation around Ukraine had a negative impact on the position of Washington itself.
According to the specialist, the time for the dissemination of "accurate data" about the "invasion" of Russia was not chosen by chance. Kreychi recalled the armed conflict in South Ossetia that took place during the 2008 Olympics. And during the games in 2014, there were protests in Kiev and a coup d'etat followed. The expert believes that for some politicians and journalists, these events have become an occasion for harsh statements and provocations.
However, many of them "cooled their ardor" after the recent talks between the presidents of Russia and France and Emmanuel Macron's statement about the need to implement the Minsk agreements. A positive role in this was also played by the statement by the United States and NATO that in the event of an "invasion" Washington and the alliance would not interfere in military operations. At the same time, there are still those who continue to spread false information about the situation around Ukraine, Kreychi added.
“The United States continues to give “hard data” that the Russian attack on Ukraine will begin on Tuesday or Wednesday, or in a week. American politicians have fallen into the trap of their own hysterical propaganda. They themselves created the pressure of their media, which limits their room for maneuver, ”he concluded.
In recent months, there have been statements in the West and Kiev in particular about Russia's allegedly impending "invasion" of Ukraine. In turn, the Kremlin has more than once directly denied any plans for an attack, and reports from Western media and officials about the preparation of an attack are called unfounded and untrue.
Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that only immoral madmen can talk about Moscow's alleged intention to attack Ukraine.
