Regional centers of Russia will be decorated with new mosques

Russia and the CIS (bbabo.net) - One of the consequences of the collapse of state and collective farms in the post-Soviet era was the resettlement of many residents of Tatar villages in regional centers, and this eventually led to the need to build mosques and open Muslim cemeteries in new places. Akhmad-Ratib Akhmetov, the head of the Omsk Muhtasibat of the DUMRF, came to this conclusion when he visited the Znamensky district in the north of the region.

“If in the first years after the resettlement, Muslim families buried the dead in the villages of exodus, today a new generation has grown up in regional centers who need both a mosque and a place where Muslims will find rest after completing their earthly journey,” Imam Akhmetov told IA bbabo.net. – In December last year, we registered an official Muslim organization in Znamenskoye, and last week we met with the leadership of the municipality, discussed the construction of a mosque and the provision of land for a cemetery to Muslims. A full mutual understanding was reached, and today several options for land plots are being considered.

According to Ahmad-Ratib-Khazrat, the migration from villages to regional centers closer to the benefits of civilization continues today, because there is no work in the ancient villages, people cannot feed livestock because of the high cost of fodder, so many former Tatar Yurts of the Tobolsk province, who survived the hard times 20th century, are gradually emptying, and in the regional centers the number of adherents of Islam is growing.
