“Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization and Metrology of the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Ministry of Technology of the Republic of Kazakhstan has begun accreditation of a body for confirming the conformity of halal products,” the website of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic says. The reason for the approval of the standard at the government level, with the issuance of state certificates, in the ministry was the increase in the competitiveness of Kazakhstani goods in the markets of Arab countries.

The decision to approve the standards of halal products in Kazakhstan was published against the backdrop of a meeting between the President of the country, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates.
