The Russian Embassy in Washington said that self-hypnosis persists in the United States about the inevitability of a Russian attack. This was reported on the page of the Russian diplomatic department in Facebook.

The embassy stressed that they had paid attention to statements by State Department spokesman Ned Price dated February 16 and believe that "the official once again tried to convict Russia of spreading disinformation on the situation in Ukraine."

“Obviously, the flywheel of anti-Russian hysteria hyped in the United States does not allow American colleagues to look at things objectively. Self-hypnosis about the inevitability of a Russian attack continues stubbornly,” the diplomatic mission said.

They emphasized that the situation had reached the point that “on the eve of an interview with Price, CNN, during a live report from Kiev, in fact, launched a countdown to the imaginary invasion, scheduled by the channel on the morning of February 16.”

The Russian embassy urged the State Department not to fuel the "militarist frenzy" of journalists and to focus on the really important issues of a diplomatic settlement of the intra-Ukrainian conflict.

Earlier, Price, responding to press claims about the erroneously indicated dates for the “Russian invasion” of Ukraine, said that the United States had never named the exact timing of the escalation of the situation around Ukraine.
