Blinken agreed to Lavrov's proposed meeting dates

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken accepted the proposals of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the exact dates of the meeting. This was reported on Twitter by CNN correspondent Jennifer Hansler, citing State Department spokesman Ned Price.

“US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has accepted an invitation to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov next week on the condition that there is no invasion of Ukraine. The Russian side proposed specific dates for the meeting and we are accepting them,” Price said.

The State Department spokesman added that if "Russia invades Ukraine," this would demonstrate Russia's lack of diplomacy.

“If they do invade [Ukraine] in the coming days, that would mean they never took diplomacy seriously,” Price concluded.

In recent months, there have been statements in the West and Kiev in particular about Russia's allegedly impending "invasion" of Ukraine. In turn, the Kremlin has more than once directly denied any plans for an attack, and reports from Western media and officials about the preparation of an attack are called unfounded and untrue.

Earlier, Lavrov said that the situation with the escalation in Ukraine is developing not in Russia, but in the minds of the West, so you need to ask questions there.
