Vekselberg wins case against Swiss bank

Russian billionaire Viktor Vekselberg, who has lived in Switzerland since 2018, won a case against the Swiss bank PostFinance. The decision on this dispute is posted on the website of the Federal Court of Switzerland.

The court ordered PostFinance to resume servicing Vekselberg's accounts, which were closed, according to representatives of the financial institution, due to "a mismatch between the bank's strategy and the client's profile."

Now the bank is obliged not only to open accounts, but also to pay Vekselberg legal costs in Swiss francs in the amount of about $8,600 and compensation of about $10,000.

Earlier, Vekselberg said that more than $1.5 billion was blocked on his accounts in foreign banks due to US sanctions.
