Thanks to the Ukrainian Zoo-3 Russia will receive a lot of zinc coffins

Allegations that Russia was supposed to invade the territory of Ukraine are called fake in Moscow. But European and American journalists continue to discuss the military-technical details of a possible "Russian invasion." The publications were studied by military observer Mikhail Khodarenok. For example, the Breaking Defense portal claims that "the war between Russia and Ukraine will be a lesson for the United States." The publication believes that the armed struggle between Kiev and Moscow can become "a demonstration of the capabilities of the modern army to conduct combat operations."

The authors believe that in the "modern realities of there are too many questions that relate not only to the tactics of warfare, but also the need to use various types of equipment."

It is still not clear, analysts of the publication write, how seriously UAVs affect combat operations, whether tanks have retained their effectiveness since the Second World War, how well modern air defense systems are able to withstand enemy aircraft and helicopters.

Breaking Defense believes that in the event of a military conflict between Russia and Ukraine, answers to most of these questions will be received. At the same time, Washington "will be able to gain invaluable experience that will help change the principles of modern warfare."

“This is an extremely strange statement. The United States has a wealth of military experience. The largest in the world. From Yugoslavia to Afghanistan. They perfectly understand how works in a modern war,” said retired Air Force Major General Dmitry Ochirov in an interview.

In turn, the American magazine Forbes claims that "Russian Iskander operational-tactical missile systems will lead any attack by the Russian Armed Forces on Ukraine." Forbes believes that it is the Iskander that will allow Moscow to suddenly attack and inflict a devastating effect.

“A sudden strike by such missiles can cause significant damage to Ukrainian forces, both aviation and ground equipment, if they are taken by surprise. But the morale impact of such a strike, and the uncertainty and state of "shock and awe" that such strikes create, especially if they hit the military leadership, can be much more significant.

Forbes describes some maneuvers that the Iskanders allegedly carried out on Russian territory near the Ukrainian borders, talking about a “dangerous approach some time ago.” At the same time, the publication emphasizes that the removal of these complexes from the borders "does not guarantee anything, since the strike can also be delivered from a fairly large distance."

Officially, the range of the Iskander is 500 km. However, the Americans themselves believe that the range of the missile exceeds this limit. It was these claims that became the formal reason for the US withdrawal from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF Treaty) in 2019. The treaty provided for a maximum threshold of five hundred kilometers. Pentagon experts believe that at one time the official range of the missile was fictitiously underestimated in order to hide the violation of the INF Treaty, and the real range is 2000-2600 km. Moscow denies this.

“Even 500 km is a lot. Thus, the Iskanders had no need at all to “dangerously approach the Ukrainian border.” This is complete absurdity. If Moscow wants to attack using Iskanders, it will not push them to the Russian-Ukrainian border, this is not cannon artillery, ”said military expert, retired colonel of the Strategic Missile Forces Aleksey Volin.

Finally, the American publication Military Watch claims that "if Moscow attacks Ukraine, then thanks to the Ukrainian Zoo-3 radar, Russia will receive a lot of zinc coffins."

Recall that the "Zoo" is a counter-battery radar, which is designed to reconnoiter the positions of enemy fire weapons (MLRS, artillery and mortar positions, launchers of tactical missiles and air defense systems), calculate the trajectories of shells and missiles, adjust the fire of their firing funds.

Thus, the main purpose of both Russian and Ukrainian "Zoos" is counter-battery combat. They are not intended to inflict any massive losses in manpower on a potential enemy.
