The talks between Putin and Lukashenko lasted 2.5 hours

Talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko ended in Moscow, they lasted two and a half hours. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

Putin said that Moscow and Minsk decided to continue building up military cooperation against the backdrop of growing NATO activity in Eastern Europe. He also highly appreciated the recently completed Russian-Belarusian exercise "Allied Resolve", stressing that the maneuvers were of a defensive nature.

“Of course, one of the central topics of our talks with Alexander Grigorievich was issues related to the development of integration and the construction of a connection between the union state,” the Russian leader noted.

He said that during the talks, the implementation of strategic decisions adopted at a meeting of the supreme state council of the union state on November 4, 2021, the implementation of 28 sectoral programs "and, in general, the provisions of the agreement on the creation of the union state" were discussed.

“A high-level group for coordinating integration cooperation has picked up a good pace, the next meeting of which was already held in mid-December,” he added.

Earlier, the Crimean Parliament announced its readiness for large-scale cooperation with Belarus.
