Lavrov urged the West to dialogue on security in terms of the kid said - the kid did

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called on the United States and NATO to fulfill their security obligations on the principle of "the boy said - the boy did." The diplomat said this in an interview with RT.

The Russian Foreign Minister stressed that Moscow cannot be satisfied with promises.

“Moreover, the written commitments of the heads of state and government, requiring NATO members to fully take into account our interests, not to mention verbal guarantees, which Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly mentioned, turn out to be worth nothing. It won’t work like that,” Lavrov said.

He stated that Moscow would seek honesty from the West.

“I don’t want to turn to jargon, but we have a concept -“ the kid said - the kid did. At the very least, the “concepts” must be respected at the international level as well,” Lavrov said.

The day before, the Russian Foreign Ministry published the text of Moscow's written reaction to the US response on security guarantees. The document was handed over to the US Ambassador to Russia, John Sullivan. US authorities have confirmed that they have received a response.
