Russia - Lukashenka announced the construction of a port near St. Petersburg for transshipment of goods

Russia (bbabo.net), - A sea port for serving Belarusian goods will be built in the Leningrad region. This was stated by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko following negotiations with Vladimir Putin, RIA Novosti reports.

As noted by the Belarusian leader, he asked the Russian president to order the construction of a seaport near St. Petersburg for "transshipment of millions of tons of cargo." Lukashenka stressed that construction should begin "immediately."

Lukashenka explained the need to build the port by the unwillingness of Minsk to return to the transshipment of Belarusian cargo through the territory of Lithuania and Ukraine, which previously "in violation of international agreements closed roads, routes and ports for Minsk."
