The self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics rejected Kiev's proposals to hold a meeting of the contact group. This was reported to journalists by the head of the DPR Foreign Ministry, Natalya Nikonorova, and her colleague from the LPR, Vladislav Deinego, TASS reports.

According to them, Ukraine is "increasing informational hysteria" by announcing the aggression of the republics, after which it proposes a meeting, not intending to take measures to prevent the fire.

“In this regard, we consider it absolutely pointless to support the Ukrainian militaristic PR campaign fueled by the West. If you want peace and quiet, don't shoot!" Nikonorova said.

Deinego, in turn, stressed that the LPR is ready for constructive work on specific issues of settlement, but does not intend to “support the Ukrainian PR campaign in front of the West.”

Earlier, the head of the self-proclaimed DPR, Denis Pushilin, announced the start of the evacuation of the population of Donbass to Russia due to the threat of an attack by the Ukrainian army. Pushilin noted that the armed forces of the DPR will be able to protect the civilian population and infrastructure. However, the shelling of settlements poses a threat to the inhabitants of the republic.
