US National Security Adviser Duleep Singh has revealed the contents of a package of sanctions that will be imposed against Russia in the event of an invasion of Ukraine. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

“All options remain, however, most likely you will not see a disconnect from SWIFT in the initial package of sanctions. There are other drastic measures that we can take that our allies are willing to use in coordination with us,” Singh said during the briefing.

He added that the US authorities do not intend to limit "Russia's ability to supply energy to the world."

The press secretary of the White House Jen Psaki also spoke at the briefing. She stressed that the restrictive measures being developed by the US authorities are designed to contain Russia, and therefore will not be introduced preventively.

Earlier, German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock said that Russia is unlikely to carry out a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, but could carry out an operation "under a false flag."
