The Pentagon does not consider Russia's plans to invade Ukraine a bluff

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin does not consider Russia's "plans" to "invade" Ukraine a bluff. He stated this in an interview with ABC.

"I don't believe it's a bluff," Austin said.

According to the head of the Pentagon, on the border with Ukraine, Russia has placed "everything that is needed for a successful invasion."

“If they had relocated to garrisons, we would not have seen such combat power in the region: logistical and medical support, military aviation,” he said.

Austin also pointed out that Russia "could attack at short notice."

Recently, there have been allegations in the West about an allegedly impending Russian invasion of Ukraine. Thus, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said that the military department did not believe that Russia had made the final decision to "invade" Ukraine, but warned that hostilities could occur any day. Later, US President Joe Biden also warned that the Russian Federation could attack Ukraine "in the next few days."
