The fact that the President of Russia will be present at the exercises became known on February 18.

As previously reported in the Russian Defense Ministry, the exercises were planned in advance to check the readiness of military command and control bodies, combat crews, crews of ships and missile carriers, and the reliability of weapons of strategic nuclear and non-nuclear forces. The Northern and Black Sea Fleets, the Aerospace Forces, the Southern Military District, and the Strategic Missile Forces are taking part in the training.
