Russia (bbabo.net), - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported to Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Putin on the readiness of the forces and means involved for the ongoing exercise of the Strategic Nuclear Forces (SNF).

“In accordance with the decision you made, an exercise of the Strategic Deterrence Forces is being held today. During it, the issues of controlling nuclear weapons of increased potential danger in a single control loop during the operation of strategic offensive forces will be worked out,” the military leader told the head of state.

According to Shoigu, the forces and means of the Russian Aerospace Forces, units of the Southern Military District, the Strategic Missile Forces, as well as the forces of the Northern and Black Sea Fleets are involved in the exercise.

The minister said that the strategic nuclear forces exercises will demonstrate launches of hypersonic aeroballistic missiles of the Kinzhal aviation missile system and the anti-ship hypersonic cruise missile Zirkon.

The chief of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces, General of the Army Valery Gerasimov, informed the president about the purpose of the exercise. According to him, the military is practicing the actions of the Strategic Offensive Forces to inflict guaranteed defeat on the enemy.

According to Valery Gerasimov, at the first stage of the exercise, the military will work out the issue of conducting military operations with the use of weapons of increased potential danger. "At the second stage, the sanctioning and massive use of the strategic offensive forces of the Russian Federation in a retaliatory strike," the military leader said.
