Russia - Orphans from Donetsk told how they were received in the Rostov region

Russia (bbabo.net), - On February 19, one of the first convoys with children from Donbass arrived at the temporary accommodation center "Romashka" on the shore of the Sea of Azov in the Neklinovsky district. In general, this is a year-round recreational sports complex, and one of the best in the south.

As the employees admitted, the arrival of such a number of children was a surprise for them. But they managed to quickly orient themselves and receive all the guests without red tape. Earlier, photographs appeared on the Internet, where crowds of refugees allegedly cannot immediately get to temporary accommodation centers due to long queues. It definitely wasn't here. It probably helped that "Romashka" receives guests all year round - even at the end of February, security guards, cooks, technical staff and so on work as usual here.

The first group of 250 children from several orphanages and one orphanage, together with their escorts, drove into the territory of the complex on Saturday at about 10 am, and the same number of children arrived in the afternoon. Romashka's winter accommodation fund has more than 500 beds, and several groups of young athletes have already been accommodated here, so now the boarding house is fully loaded.

There were no technical difficulties with the placement and arrangement of the children, both the staff and the children themselves say.

- We arrived at the camp at about 10 am, we were immediately placed on a separate floor, five children were settled in a room. Everywhere is very warm, beds are made. Bed linen, shampoos, towels and soap - just enough, - said Elena Plotnikova, deputy director of the Children's Social Center of Donetsk. She herself is the mother of three children (accompanying employees, for obvious reasons, also brought them). - Just folded the bags, immediately called for breakfast. In the morning there was oatmeal, sandwiches with sausage and butter, scrambled eggs and tea. And for lunch, soup, buckwheat porridge with cutlets, buns with raisins from our own bakery and compote from Don dried fruits. Everything is very tasty and satisfying.

“Better than we have at home,” the children immediately add with a laugh.

In fact, there is expanse for them. The territory of the complex is huge, and there is also access to the sea. Some guys have never seen him before in their lives. They quickly forgot about the mortal dangers that threatened them even less than a day ago, today the entire complex is literally going crazy from the warm and peaceful sky. From all corners of the din, cheerful cries and ringing laughter - children.

- In the summer we work as a "classic" children's camp, so what are the requirements of Rospotrebnadzor, what is a children's SanPiN, we know very well, - says the general director of "Romashka" Alexei Rezvanov. - There are no difficulties with products either. True, today our transport twice went to neighboring Taganrog for additional supplies of provisions. After all, on Sunday, suppliers do not work. And we must provide children 100 percent.

Difficulties, however, are added by anti-covid restrictions. For example, due to the “coronavirus” reason, local educators and teachers are not allowed to see the children - it is necessary to minimize contacts with new people. But in general, they are also ready for this. The center is provided with masks, sanitizers, ultraviolet irradiators. The streams of children are distributed over time, regular wet cleaning is carried out in the premises, rooms are ventilated, and so on.

- The regional authorities helped us with the medical staff for the next few days. Several specialists from the central district hospital are now examining the children and preparing medical documentation for them. On Monday, we will provide ourselves with an additional unit of medical staff who will monitor the current situation and, if necessary, broadcast it to the healthcare system of the region.

Volunteers also work. Armen Budaghyan, a sixth-year student of the Faculty of Medicine and Prevention at Rostov State Medical University, found out that children needed help on a special website of medical volunteers and immediately decided to go to help. On the very first day, there were about ten such guys. One group went to the central hospital of the Neklinovsky district, the others were distributed among camps and boarding houses.

We are currently conducting a medical survey. That is, we collect data on previous and chronic diseases, and on the basis of this data, we form registers in order to understand what medicines and in what volume may be needed at specific points. And then we transfer this data to the Ministry of Health of the Rostov Region, - the volunteer explained to us. - Such data is collected not only for children. For example, among the adults who arrived, there are a lot of people with hypertension and diabetes. All this must be taken into account in order to provide them with normal comprehensive assistance.

Particular attention is paid to the safety of children.
