London to tighten anti-spyware laws to combat Russian 'dirty money'

British police chief Priti Patel announced in an interview with the Sunday Telegraph (Sunday supplement of the bill of the same name to expand the powers of law enforcement in the fight against espionage, linking it to the increased Russian threat. TASS reports.

“Dirty money related to the Kremlin is not welcome in our country. I will use all my powers against individuals who are trying to harm democracy and our people. We know who you are and will not hesitate to use our legislation and migration control levers against you, along with our allies from around the world. But I will go even further and introduce a bill that completely overhauls our powers to counter threats from foreign countries and updates our outdated laws on espionage,” the interior minister said.

Patel noted that Russian agents could undermine global security and accused them of "a full range of crimes."

Earlier, British Foreign Secretary Elizabeth Truss said during the Munich Security Conference that London would ban Russian oligarchs from entering Ukraine in the event of a Russian attack.
