The OSCE recorded an increase in the number of shelling of Donbass

Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Helga Schmid said that the OSCE has recently recorded an increase in the use of heavy weapons in the Donbass. She wrote about it on Twitter.

“The OSCE SMM recorded an increased use of heavy weapons banned by the Minsk agreements, which led to a rapid increase in reports of damage and casualties,” Schmid wrote.

She added that it is unacceptable to endanger civilians. Schmid called on the parties to the conflict to withdraw heavy weapons from the security zone and respect the ceasefire, as well as protect civilians.

Earlier, Poland's representative to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Adan Halasinsky said that Poland, at the request of Ukraine, was convening an extraordinary meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council.

According to him, Mikko Kinnunen, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office in Ukraine and in the Trilateral Contact Group, and Head of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission, Halit Cevik, were invited to participate in the meeting.
