Russia (bbabo.net), - Last year, pollution of rivers and water bodies was most often recorded in the Sverdlovsk region (377 times). It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to a study by the FinExpertiza network.

On the second place according to this indicator was the Murmask region (245 cases of pollution), on the third - the Moscow region (228 cases). They are followed by the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (99 cases) and the Irkutsk Region (86 cases).

"The top ten regions with the highest number of cases of freshwater pollution also included the Smolensk region (86 cases of pollution), Nizhny Novgorod region (84 cases), Primorsky Krai (81 cases), Novosibirsk region (75 cases) and Tula region (69 cases)", - the auditors found out.

The main sources of pollution in Russia were enterprises of the metallurgical, mining, oil and paper industries, as well as housing and communal services.
