Senator Dengin called the meeting of the Security Council on Donbass a message to the West

The meeting of the Russian Security Council on the recognition of the independence of the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR was a unique event, said Vadim Dengin, a member of the Federation Council committee on international affairs.

“Broadcasting the meeting of the Security Council on television is a unique event. In particular, there was an important message for international comrades who are on the other side of the borders. Once again, the President and the Security Council showed their openness. There is nothing to hide here, as our opponents do, trying to hush up everything, to do it quietly and behind their backs. The openness of this meeting is pleasant, it is important that it was heard for the West. It was not done somehow on the sidelines or in the form of a communiqué. All responsible departments have stated their position, each opinion is based on intelligence, information and analytical conclusions, ”the senator explained.

From Dengin's point of view, during the meeting of the Security Council, Russian President Vladimir Putin listened to absolutely everyone, including the positions of law enforcement agencies and parliament. In his opinion, the head of state will make a correct and competent decision on the issue of independence of the Donbass republics.

“In my opinion, the open holding of a meeting of the Security Council of Russia shows our still peaceful attitude. We have always endured, Russia has endured humiliation and has always turned its face to those opponents who spat after us and in the back. Of course, it is no longer possible to tolerate it any longer, but we must live in peace, not in war, which our foreign opponents do not yet understand, ”the deputy emphasized.

At a meeting of the Security Council, the request of the DPR and LPR to Moscow to recognize their independence was considered. Most of the members of the Security Council urged to satisfy the request of the republics of Donbass. Putin thanked the meeting participants and said that the decision would be made today.
