The speaker stressed that today is a very responsible day for the deputies. "We will consider the issue of ratifying the treaties of friendship and mutual assistance with the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics," Volodin recalled. According to him, the Council of the Duma will be held at 10 am, where this issue will be considered, and at 12 pm - a plenary session.
Recognition of the republics, he stressed, is the only way out "in a situation where we are facing a humanitarian catastrophe, we see how tens of thousands of refugees, women and children are forced to leave their homes."
Kiev, Volodin continued, crossed out the Minsk agreements by starting shelling of civilians in Donbass. At the same time, the United States, he is sure, is interested in this conflict being ongoing. And European countries, unfortunately, were not able to influence these issues.
"Recognition of the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics and the ratification of treaties on friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance should stop the massacre, the death of our citizens and compatriots living there," the Chairman of the State Duma said.
As for unfriendly decisions and sanctions, they will be adopted in any case, Volodin believes. "Just as they were taken before without any reasons or even reasons," he explained. "The United States and its satellite allies do not need a strong Russia, and they will do everything to slow down the development of our country."
Recall that a week ago, the State Duma turned to the President of Russia with a request to recognize the DPR and LPR as independent, sovereign and independent states.
The day before, the leadership of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics made the same request. After the meeting of the Security Council, where this topic was discussed, Vladimir Putin addressed the citizens of the Russian Federation, saying that he considers it necessary to immediately recognize the sovereignty of the LPR and DPR. He stressed that the Kiev regime does not recognize any other solution to the conflict in Donbass, except for the military one.
Immediately after the appeal, the president signed decrees in the Kremlin recognizing the LNR and the DNR. Also, cooperation agreements were signed with the leadership of the republics, and then submitted to the State Duma.
