The Czech Parliament praised Russia's recognition of the LPR and DPR

Yaroslav Bashta, a member of the International Affairs Committee of the Czech Parliament, said that Russia's recognition of the independence of the LPR and DPR narrows a possible war to the limits of a local one and for Ukraine could mean "peace enforcement." It is reported by RIA Novosti.

“Recognition of the independence of the republics may mean, among other things, the further signing of an agreement on cooperation, including military cooperation, between Russia and the DPR and LPR, and hence the subsequent entry of Russian troops into their territory. For Kiev, this could mean, as they say, “peace enforcement,” Bashta said.

He stressed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is personally interested in military operations in the east of the country. Bashta added that if Zelensky starts fighting, this will give him the opportunity to stay for a second term as president of Ukraine. If he does not take such actions, then Zelensky will have to leave the post of head of the country, because "he does not have any serious achievements in this capacity," the Czech politician noted.

Earlier, Zelensky said that Kiev qualifies Russia's recognition of the self-proclaimed republics of Donbass as a violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Prior to this, Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the Russians, in which he stated the need to recognize the independence of the self-proclaimed republics of Donbass.
