The Berlin administration illuminated the Brandenburg Gate - one of the main attractions of the German capital - in the colors of the Ukrainian flag as a sign of solidarity with the citizens of Ukraine and Russia, who stand for peace between the countries. This is reported by Radio Berlin and Brandenburg with reference to the Berlin burgomaster Franziska Giffay.

“We show our solidarity with the people in Ukraine, the many Berliners with Ukrainian roots, and also the many Russians who want peace in Russia and Ukraine.” They all want only an end to the escalation and a peaceful resolution of this threatening conflict,” said Berlin Mayor Franziska Giffey.

The action began at 18.45 local time (16:45 Moscow time) and will last until midnight.
