Basurin urged the Ukrainian military to lay down their arms

Deputy Head of the People's Militia Department of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Eduard Basurin, on the air of the Rossiya 24 TV channel, called on the Ukrainian military to lay down their arms. He recommended that they heed the statement made by Russian President Vladimir Putin in this regard.

"Military, put down your weapons, go home, you will save your lives," Basurin addressed the representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine live.

The representative of the DPR also accused the Ukrainian leadership of misinforming the public. "Ukraine's statements about the destruction of civilian infrastructure are lies, the fire is only on military targets," Basurin stressed.

The Verkhovna Rada has declared martial law in Ukraine, TASS reports. This decision was supported by 300 Ukrainian deputies.
