It is yet early to talk about Mikheil Saakashvili’s resignation from the party’s chairmanship; it depends on the government’s decision, - said Giorgi Vashadze, a National Movement leader.
“The government must make a decision whether it will allow Saakashvili to have dual citizenship or not. After this, we will provide our own input,”- Vashadze said.
According to him, the Georgian legislation provides for dual citizenship, though now it depends on a political decision that must be made by the government.
In addition, Vashadze alleges that Saakashvili has not contacted anyone to discuss the issue of dual citizenship.
