The President of Kazakhstan replaced the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev dismissed Interior Minister Yerlan Turgumbaev from his post, this was reported on the official website of the President of the Republic.

By his order, Tokayev appointed Turgumbaev as presidential adviser, RIA Novosti reports, citing the press service.

According to another decree, Akhmetzhanov Marat Muratovich was appointed to the post of Minister of Internal Affairs, who before his appointment was the head of the country's anti-corruption service.

Earlier in Kazakhstan, Defense Minister Murat Bektanov was dismissed, a month later he was detained by employees of the Prosecutor General's Office of the republic on suspicion of inaction during the January riots.
