Zelensky discussed with Biden the strengthening of sanctions

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky tweeted that he spoke with US President Joe Biden and they discussed "increasing sanctions, specific defense support and an anti-war coalition."

“Grateful to the United States for the powerful support to Ukraine!” Zelensky said.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden announced the introduction of new sanctions and export restrictions against Russia against the backdrop of a special operation to protect Donbass. Biden said the United States, together with G7 partners, would limit Russia's ability to "do business in dollars, euros, pounds and yen, be part of the global economy."

Zelensky called on the Bucharest Nine to create an anti-war coalition and impose sanctions against the Russian Federation.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a military special operation to protect Donbass in response to a request for help from the heads of the LPR and DPR. He also called on European leaders to support Ukraine and sanctions against Moscow with an embargo on oil and gas trade.
