Doctors Without Borders stop working in Ukraine

The international medical humanitarian organization "Doctors Without Borders" (MFG) has decided to stop its activities on the territory of Ukraine, the organization said in a statement.

According to the WBG, the organization's activities were independent of the political situation and included the treatment of HIV infection in Severodonetsk, the treatment of tuberculosis in Zhytomyr, and improving access to medical care in Donetsk. The WBG emphasizes that during the seven years of the conflict, the needs for its work were high, and immediately before the escalation of tension, doctors trained the staff of several hospitals in Donetsk and Lugansk in emergency medical care and preparation for surgery.

At the moment, Médecins Sans Frontières is trying to find ways to work in the current environment. Thus, teams are mobilized in Belarussia, ready to provide humanitarian assistance if necessary. In addition, the organization is preparing medicines for the fastest possible delivery to all those in need.
