President of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhaniya signed decrees on Friday recognizing the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics. It is reported by TASS.

“Today I signed decrees recognizing the independence of the Donetsk People's Republic and the independence of the Luhansk People's Republic. I am absolutely sure that the entire Abkhazian society supports this decision,” Bzhaniya said.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry hosted a ceremony of exchanging letters of ratification of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between Russia and the Donetsk People's Republic and the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the Russian Federation and the Lugansk People's Republic.
