An employee of the Russian embassy in Lithuania suffered at the hands of participants in a rally in support of Ukraine, which took place near the building of the diplomatic mission. This was reported by TASS with reference to Russian diplomats.

"Such an incident took place," the embassy informed. The diplomatic mission refused to disclose more detailed information, citing the secrecy of the investigation.

The suspect has been arrested, police said. Law enforcement agencies did not comment on the incident anymore.

It is worth noting that the official Vilnius took an aggressive stance against Russia against the background of the events in the Donbass. The Lithuanian authorities have suspended the issuance of all categories of visas to Russian citizens and demand the same from other EU members. At the same time, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic announced plans to transfer weapons and ammunition to the Ukrainian side.
