Moldova - How refugees from Ukraine settled in Chisinau: photo video

Moldova (bbabo.net), - Real spring in Chisinau! The sun is warm and it seems that everything in the world is wonderful. However, of course, this is not the case. Otherwise I wouldn't be here on the morning of February 25th. The Covid Center is no longer located at Moldexpo, a center for accommodating refugees from Ukraine has been opened here. Only here people were treated for covid, but today they are crying and anxiously waiting for people to go through hard times.

There is a TV set in the lobby, showing the Ukrainian channel 1 + 1, Zelensky is saying something. What is unclear, the volume was turned down. Separate cells-rooms. Inside is a bed, bedside table, a couple of chairs. So far, there are about 70 citizens of Ukraine who fled the war.

- In 2014, we left Lugansk for Odessa, and now we are here, in Moldova, - Ekaterina and Maxim say. - We were not afraid, we already knew how everything would turn out according to our sad experience. We arrived in Chisinau by car at five in the morning. We were in a convoy of cars. Three hours stuck at our customs, three hours - at the Moldavian one. There was a big queue.

- How were you received in Moldova?

- Very good! We want to say a huge thank your government and the people of Moldova! In Ukraine, we, as refugees, were not received they were accepted here! The organization is at the highest level, the attitude towards us is... You won't find anything like that among our compatriots. And you have a very touching, understanding, you know from the nineties what war is ...

- How long do you plan to stay here?

- Right here? Days, maximum, two. Then we'll rent a house. we are not going to sit on someone's neck, spend your budget money.

- We arrived from Odessa today at six o'clock in the morning, - Alexandra feeds her tiny little son with a spoon. Nearby, an older boy deftly copes with the gadget. - It was scary... When a shell flies next to you, it's very scary! We were received very well, everyone helped, prompted, very friendly, did not expect this. We are here for the first time, we don't know the country, we don't have anyone here. I hope that everything will be over in a maximum of three months and we will be able to return home.

Many of the refugees are fast asleep. Tired of nervous tension, of fears, of the exhausting road, they arrived and immediately passed out. And someone turned on the laptop and communicates with relatives via video link.

- We came from Odessa, from the village of Kotovsky, - Ekaterina admits. - We left yesterday in a column at the beginning of the second day, arrived here at the beginning of the fourth night, twelve hours were on the road. The traffic jam started from the bypass road, from the village of Kotovsky, where a shell fell. To be honest, we were driving in the opposite direction, insolently, because there was no other way out. There were fourteen of us, five children in four cars. The children wanted to sleep, eat, it is difficult for me to explain to my child that some uncles cannot share something ...

- To whom did they leave the house, property?

- My father and brother stayed at home.

- How were you received in Moldova?

- I'm shocked! For three and a half hours we were looking for accommodation and could not find it from the word "completely". Everything is busy, busy. But your locals helped us. "Follow us, we will help you!" They escorted us here... We didn't think that everything would be like this - everything is clean, warm, food, SIM cards were brought. There is no such thing anywhere, everything is very good, insanely nice! Your people are very kind! Police officers, customs officers - very polite, thank you very much! I think we'll be here for at least a month. Hurry home! Away is good, but at home, after all, it is better.

- Pizza has arrived! shouts the volunteer. - Whoever wants can take her, she's on the street!

- Thank your hospitality! - thanks to Inna and Elkhan, a married couple from Odessa. - How would we do it? Everyone would be thrown into some kind of cold gym, without water. would have given a piece of bread and that's it. And you ... What wonderful people you have! Thank you for everything, for your hospitality, for the breadth of your soul!

In the lobby on the tables - a lot of packages of tea, water, bowls with a hot lunch, bread, pizza boxes were unloaded on the street, a lot of boxes.

Nearby is a booth with the inscription "Information", here they accept help for refugees from residents of Moldova. In front of our eyes, a cheerful man brought twenty boxes of puzzles.

- In the evening I will bring more sweets and toys! he promised.

“Most often they bring food, but those that do not need to be prepared are canned food, cookies, buns,” says volunteer Roman Andreev. - There is nowhere to cook, something to warm up. They bring clothes, including children's, toys, blankets. We just announced this action today, people immediately began to come. Our people took to heart what is happening today in Ukraine.

- A lot of people are trying to help! - a pretty volunteer named Ekaterina shares with us. - I thought that many would want to help, good and kind people live here! And kindness will save the world!

BY THE WAY
