Russia and the CIS (bbabo.net) - Russian mixed martial arts fighter Islam Makhachev explained why he does not see his best friend, former UFC champion Khabib Nurmanomedov, as the future head of their native Dagestan.

Islam shared his opinion about Khabib's possible departure into politics in an interview with the Championship portal.

The journalist asked the fighter if he believes that one day Khabib will lead Dagestan, being today a “leader of public opinion” and “an example for millions of Muslims around the world.”

In response, Islam admitted that he considers such a scenario unlikely, since "such fuss" does not interest his friend.

“I doubt he enjoys something else, not such a fuss. He loves to ride, fly, help, from such things, ”added the athlete.
