"In another unprecedented step, we will ban the Kremlin's media machine in the European Union," von der Leyen said.
She added that RT, Sputnik, as well as their subsidiaries will be among the media banned, among other things, the EC is developing the necessary tools for this.
In response to the ban, Sputnik suggested extending sanctions to the entire Internet.
“We suggest that the European Union not stop at half measures, but immediately ban the Internet,” the agency’s press service said.
