The IAEA is aware that Ukrainian nuclear facilities were subjected to rocket fire

Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi said that Ukraine has notified the IAEA about the missiles hitting a radioactive waste disposal facility in Kyiv. It is reported by TASS.

Grossi stressed that the Ukrainian side had informed the agency that rockets hit a radioactive waste disposal site in Kyiv at night.

At the same time, there were no reports of damage to the building or other signs of a radioactive release, the IAEA Director General noted.

Grossi also pointed out the need to ensure the security of such facilities. The radioactive waste stored there can cause serious radiological impact.
