Russia and the CIS (bbabo.net) - The Russian authorities have taken mirror measuresponse to the decision of the European Union to close its airspace to Russian aircraft as one of the new sanctions.
According to the Federal Air Transport Agency, aircraft from airlines from 36 Western countries (Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Canada, etc.) are no longer entitled to land on Russian territory or cross its airspace.
Previously, all these states made a similar decision regarding civil aircraft registered in the Russian Federation or used by Russian airlines.
The agency noted that exceptions will be made in special situations when special permits are issued by the Federal Air Transport Agency or the Foreign Ministry.
