The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the possible scale of a potential global conflict in an interview with Al Jazeera, a fragment of which was published on the channel's Twitter. At the same time, Lavrov drew attention to the words of US President Biden said last Saturday that the start of a "third world war" is an alternative to sanctions against Russia because of the situation in Ukraine.

Lavrov said that Russia would not allow Ukraine to obtain nuclear weapons. The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry also made it clear that the West refused to cooperate with Moscow on the formation of a new European security architecture.
