The people's militia of the Luhansk People's Republic liberated a total of 40 settlements that were under the control of the Ukrainian army. This was reported in the Telegram channel of the department.

“The units of the People’s Militia have already liberated 40 settlements from the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Filiponenko said in a statement posted on the Telegram channel of the People’s Militia.

The settlements of Putilino, Artyoma, Shirokiy, Shulginka, Teploe, Nizhneteploye, Verkhneteploye, Plotina and many others came under the control of the LPR.

Since the beginning of the special operation, 34 Ukrainian military voluntarily laid down their arms and went over to the side of the LPR. At the same time, five former Ukrainian military are in hospitals.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a military special operation to protect the Donbass in response to a request for help from the heads of the LPR and DPR.
