Deputy head of the People's Militia of the DPR Eduard Basurin said that Mariupol was blocked by the People's Militia of the DPR and the Russian army, TASS reports.

Basurin said that before the joint forces of Russia and the DPR stormed, the Ukrainian military in Mariupol would be asked to lay down their arms.

“It takes a couple of days to understand how the situation will develop in Mariupol. There will be negotiations to convince them to lay down their arms, surrender and leave the city so that the civilian population does not suffer,” Basurin said.

He recalled that the DPR and Russia have organized two humanitarian corridors through which civilians can leave Mariupol.

“So far, there have been no such facts [of the use of humanitarian corridors]. We hope it happens today."

Earlier, the deputy head of the DPR People’s Militia Department, Eduard Basurin, said that the DPR People’s Militia and the Russian armed forces had opened two humanitarian corridors from Mariupol.
