Retailer pulls out product that offends Muslims

British retailer Morrisons has withdrawn the Ramadan calendar from sale because it printed inappropriate for Muslims information about the location of the al-Aqsa mosque - the authors of the calendar indicated that the shrine is located "in Israel".

The retail giant removed the controversial merchandise from its stores less than a day after the pro-Palestinian NGO Friends of al-Aqsa launched a campaign against the blasphemous calendar.

Al-Aqsa is located in East Jerusalem and has been under illegal occupation by Israel since 1967. Islam's third holiest site is often subject to aggressive raids by Israeli occupying forces and Israeli settlers,” the organization said in a statement.

The retailer's management promptly responded to the appeal of the public. “As soon as this was brought to our attention, we removed the calendar from sale,” a company spokesman said, quoted by bbabo.net citing ArabNews.
